How to reach the Nordic Refuge?

Nordic Refuge is situated in tranquil Dalsland, West Sweden, surrounded by lakes, forests and quiet horizons. Whether you’re arriving by car, train and bus, bicycle or even by boat, here are simple, step-by-step directions to make your journey easy and joyful.

- by bicycle -

Cyclists are welcome — and Dalsland has some truly scenic routes.
There are 4 major cycling routes passing in the street just in front of the B&B: Vänerleden, Dalslandsleden, Sverigeleden & Unionsleden making Nordic Refuge a perfect stop or base for multi-day tours. You can also join us from the West Coast by linking EuroVelo 3 (EV3) with Dalslandsleden around Strömstad.

Would you prefer to bring your bicycle on the train? You can reach Åmål (on Västtrafik trains) and cycle the last 20 km.

- by train & bus -

The nearest train station is Åmål, about 20 km from Nordic Refuge. Buses run daily from Åmål station directly to Fröskog (note: services are limited on weekends).

From Göteborg (Gothenburg), you can reach Åmål in around 90 minutes by train. From continental Europe it’s easy to connect via Copenhagen or Malmö and then on to Göteborg with Öresundståg services — including seasonal night trains from Berlin to Malmö.

Check schedules and plan your route with Swedish Railways before travelling.
